Sydney Was Just Named The Best City In The World For 2024 By Condé Nast Traveller
Australia has reclaimed the spotlight, with Sydney being named the best city in the world for 2024 by Condé Nast Traveller UK.
Despite fierce competition from some of the most iconic cities in the world, Sydney’s unique blend of natural beauty and world-class attractions positioned it as the clear frontrunner.
Garnering an impressive score of 92.96 from over half a million readers, Sydney narrowly outperformed Valencia, which scored 92.78, and Singapore, with a score of 92.47. In far more surprising news, Sydney also nabbed the title of the second-friendliest city in the world behind only Singapore. Sorry Melbourne, better luck next time!
“If you’ve experienced a snippet of life Down Under, you’ve probably fallen hard for the unique, indoor-outdoor way of life the Aussies embrace so well".
Sydney also did well in other categories: CBD hotel The Fullerton was crowned the best hotel in Australasia with Park Hyatt Sydney taking out the second spot.
What draws travellers to Sydney?
While we know Sydney isn’t without its flaws with some of the most unaffordable housing in the world and a nightlife that needs revitalisation but we, and travellers in general, are willing to look past all that for the stunning beaches like the iconic Bondi and Manly beaches, excellent dining scene including the most Instagrammable restaurant in the world, an iconic light festival, fascinating natural wonders, coastal walks, national parks and seriously dreamy swimming spots.
